Truth or Cheat?
TV cameras captured dirt or a brown looking type of substance on Rogers' pitching hand.
Cardinals stated that his pitches were very unique during the first inning, however at the start of the second inning the mysterious substance was no longer there.
Rogers claimed that it was a big clump of dirt and that he simply wiped it off, no need to make an issue over the deal.
Another good question would be the silence of Tony La Russa.
Someone who is always looking for commotion and all of a sudden so quiet sounds pretty fishy to me, or dirty you could say in this situation.
And still he remained in the game as if nothing ever happened.
Rules for baseball state: Rule 3.
02 - "No player shall intentionally discolor or damage the ball by rubbing it with soil, rosin, paraffin, licorice, sand-paper, emery-paper or other foreign substance.
" Rule 8.
02 - "A pitcher 'shall not' even deliver a ball that he defaces with spit or a foreign substance or by rubbing the ball on his glove, person or clothing.
" So if this is not a cheat than it was a really bad lie!
